Specialising in the design and development of beautifully customised WordPress themes, clean logos, corporate identities and user interfaces, Proud Designs was started by me, Luke Etheridge in 2011.
So who’s Luke Etheridge?
I’m a tea-fuelled, pixel-pushing perfectionist with a huge passion for art and design and anything 90’s Hip-Hop. As the captain of this vessel with no one beneath me at present, I’m actually looking to expand the team with a freelance developer, so if you are one, get in touch will ya?
Starting out in the world of pen and ink illustration as an A-level art student, but progressing into a freelance web design career, I now have over 2 years experience in web design and pride myself with offering the latest in mobile-friendly, responsive WordPress theme development, and being able to make your site look pretty awesome on the latest retina display devices (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad 3 and MacBook Pro Retina).
Although based in the UK (Surrey if you’re interested), I have had the pleasure of working with clients of all shapes and sizes from all over the world, and am more than comfortable with working in multiple time zones. If you are overseas and would like to chat about a project then add me up on Skype.
I have been lucky enough to have my WordPress Theme Customisations featured on WooThemes showcase for Blogtrepreneur, Marketers Word, Trade Profits and Proud Designs, and I am also an Affiliated Woo Worker – being referred to by WooThemes, as an expert in custom WooTheme design and development.
My main skills include…
- Adobe Photoshop – For designing super-smart WordPress themes and user interfaces.
- Adobe Illustrator – For designing super-clean, professional logos.
- HTML, CSS & jQuery – Huge understanding, and constant experience with each.
- Responsive Development – Constructing mobile/tablet-friendly WordPress themes.
- Retina-ready Development – Crafting WordPress themes that look beautiful on retina (HiDPI) displays.
- WordPress – Fantastic CMS allowing website owners full control over the content on their website.
- An understanding of SEO – Growing knowledge and experience with on-site SEO.

To me, both graphic and web design are about more than just the project in hand, and it is equally as important to me to build strong, long-lasting relationships with my clients. Personally, when looking for people to work with, I will only use people or businesses who I trust, and who have already gained themselves a good reputation, therefore I see trust as a crucial part of my service.
I pride myself in being quick to respond to emails and enquiries (typically within 12 hours), and being readily available to jump on Skype for a chat or call, because I know how it feels to constantly chase people and receive poor service. I am also thoroughly committed to sticking to my word when it comes to project quotes (providing the originally quoted project has not changed dramatically), and equally eager to put in the extra hours, at no extra cost, to make my clients happy.
In addition, unlike many freelancers who seem to run and hide once they’ve completed a project, I like to offer my clients a considerable amount of support to ensure that they’re not left in the dark with their new WordPress theme, therefore I’m always available to email with queries and questions.
If you like what you’re reading and have a potential project in mind, please contact me for a quote using this form and I’ll be sure to reply within the next 12 hours.
