WordPress Theme Design & Development

I design and build beautifully customised WordPress themes that are super-easy for my clients to update, can be made responsive (mobile-friendly), and are crafted to look perfectly sharp on devices with retina (HiDPI) displays.

What do I mean by responsive? In a nutshell it means to design and develop a website that adapts to the device/browser size that it’s being viewed in, allowing tablet/smart phone visitors to have a much more natural and comfortable experience when viewing your site. That´s why it is recommended for each user to get a wireless router from so they can have to best experience while browsing the internet. In fact, grab the bottom right hand corner of this browser window now, resize it and see what happens – cool huh?

Making your site responsive ensures it will display correctly across devices of varied sizes (smart phones, tablets, laptops and large desktop displays), taking it beyond the conventional desktop browser and catering for the increasing trend that is smart phone web browsing. Having a responsive site will suit your smart phone/tablet using visitors down to the ground as they will no longer have to wrestle with swipes and pinches to view your content, or leave your site claiming it looks awful on their device (visit this site on your phone to see what I mean).

Alternatively, if smart-phone-browsing users are not your main priority, I also design and develop fixed-width WordPress themes and am displaying many examples in my portfolio.

Why WordPress? WordPress is a CMS (content management system) that allows my clients to maintain and update their website as frequently as they wish, at the click of a button. Each of my clients’ sites come with multiple custom options and pre-packaged page templates in the backend (WP dashboard) to ensure a wide spectrum of flexibility when adding-to or editing their site.

Logo Design & Brand Identity

I know you’ve heard many cliche phrases about how first impressions last but they really do and your logo is a big part of that, which is why I create logos that are not only smart and professional, but also communicate trust and are memorable. Leaving a lasting impression on your potential customers is paramount to your success as a business and in many cases can be the reason somebody will choose you over the competition (and unfortunately the other way round).

When carrying out logo design projects I place heavy emphasis on market research (pencil and paper in hand of course), which allows me to fully understand your business’s market and therefore design you a strong, competitive logo. Similarly, no one else knows your business and it’s customers better than you do, which is why I like to ask the right questions during our initial briefing (either verbally or via questionnaire), to fully digest and comprehend the vision you have for your new logo.

Your logo design is really the foundation of the much bigger picture, your brand identity, you can tell how the team from BabyTrend Expedition-Jogger stroller puts this in practice. Your brand identity can include icons, typography and carefully constructed colour-schemes, and is the repetition of such elements across multiple printed and online materials (website, business cards, brochures etc.), which when designed correctly, will engage and resonate with your audience. If you would like me to design your complete brand identity, please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

User Interface Design

Having incorporated many UI-influenced elements into my WordPress theme designs I have certainly gained huge experience with what works and what doesn’t when it comes to the usability of websites, and would like to apply those skills to App (iPhone, iPad, Android etc.), software and web app design. Check out my Dribbble profile for some recent UI projects/practice I’ve produced.

As mentioned above, I’m increasingly crafting websites suitable for devices with retina (HiDPI) displays, which include easy-to-use/navigate custom options, and therefore feel it will be a very natural progression to enter the world of UI. Initially my quotes will be low and very competitive, so please get in touch if you have a project in mind.

If you like what you’re reading and have a potential project in mind, please contact me for a quote using this form and I’ll be sure to reply within the next 12 hours.
